Well, it looks like Lauren is joining the club.
This past Saturday, Lauren started complaining that her ear hurt. She cried and acted fussy all night long. That combined with the fact that Mike just wasn't getting any better led us to believe that they both needed to got to the doctor Sunday. Since Lauren's doctor wasn't open they went to a Take Care Clinic at one of the local Walgreens. From what Mike said, they did a good job! Came to find out that Lauren didn't really have an ear infection, she just wanted to get the pink bubblegum flavored medicine like Alex had. Sigh. That's the way it is. Everything Alex does, she has to do. Never mind that she's 2 1/2 years younger than him and doesn't understand that and then I have to try to explain that to a 3 1/2 year old. And never mind the fact that at that point, she wasn't showing any signs of sickness. Notice I said "at that point."
Mike ended up getting an antibiotic and Lauren came home empty handed.
The next couple of days we listened to Lauren cough and sneeze knowing fully well that she was getting what what me, Alex, and Mike have had. It's kind of frustrating. I could have told you this would have happened and yet I have to wait until she starts to show certain symptoms before I can take her to the doctor to get an antibiotic. Don't get me wrong. I am by no means an antibiotic junky. All four of us don't go to the doctor unless it is absolutely necessary. However, since three of us have been sick with sinus infections, I'm just betting that she has one too. Which would require an antibiotic.
This morning I noticed she had some dried gunk around her eyes. BINGO! Alex did the exact same thing. Hmmm.... So Lauren now has another doctor's appointment for tomorrow.
And once again, we get to sit in a doctor's waiting room. Joy. Really. I'm pretty tired of the sickness. If I thought crying "uncle" would help, I'd do it.
