Five is here...Let's all cheer

Alex went through some big changes from age 4 to 5. On his fourth birthday, he had a Barney cake. On his fifth birthday he had a Hulk cake. Where he used to play with preschool toys, they've now been replaced with action figures. Where there was once a shy little boy, there's now a more confident older boy.

Age 5 hit me pretty hard. I don't know if it really affected Mike but for me there was just no more doubting that my baby boy was no longer a baby. He plays with big boy toys now and acts more like a big boy. I think Mike enjoys Alex getting older because it means he gets to play with action figures again. ;^)

This was the first year that Alex got to build a snowman (we just haven't had enough snow before). He also went to Disney World for the 4th time (that's right, my 5 year old has been to Disney World almost every year he's been around). We took a trip to Chicago to visit family and Alex got to eat his first piece of Chicago pizza. He also lost his first tooth! But the biggest thing was Alex started Kindergarten. He really, really, really likes it! He is always excited to go to school.

He's very excited to be having his birthday party tomorrow where he gets to spend time with the boys from his Kindergarten class. He's made some really good friends there.
